Today’s the day! The Chosen One Con is the first book in the Lost in the Aether duology—a queer gaslamp fantasy of industrial magic in a world of designer enchantments and celebrity-branded potions.
I’m launching my first ever crowdfund event with The Chosen One Con as part of the Book Bazaar 2025 crowdfunding campaign on Backerkit to raise funds for multiple indie book projects.
My goal is to raise £600, with some fun stretch goals along the way. The campaign is running from today, November 12 – December 3!

This book represents my pivot into writing queer MM fantasy books, but it also contains elements you’ll have loved from The Cruel Gods, including a gaslamp world, working class characters fighting against systems of oppression, humour, adult content, and plenty of swearing.
While this book isn’t finished yet – I’m aiming for a spring/summer 2026 release – this means the project is still in development and you have a chance to support and shape the final book! With your help, I’ll be raising funds towards the completion of the book (namely the cost of editing, because the editor and artists I work with deserve to be paid well!) but I’m also offering some fun digital and print goodies for backers. The Book Bazaar 2025
The Book Bazaar 2025 is a collaborative crowdfunding event on Backerkit where multiple indie authors have come together to raise funds for their campaign. There are over twenty campaigns taking part in a variety of genres including fantasy, sci-fi, horror, queer, and romance, as well as a variety of formats such as novels, novellas, series, anthologies, and audiobooks. There’s something for everyone!
