Worldcon is THE biggest fantasy/sci-fi book convention in the world, and this year it’s happening in Glasgow – only a few hours from me by train! Naturally, there was no way I’d miss my chance to visit my first ever Worldcon.
Taking place next week from 8-12th August in the wonderful city of Glasgow, Worldcon is going to be jam packed full of panels, workshops, and other fun activities celebrating books, video games, and other speculative media. I’m going to be there for each day and will also be taking part in my first ever in-person panel: Let’s Kill and Dethrone God: the History of JRPGs on Sunday, 11 August @ 13:00!
Naturally I couldn’t resist taking part in a panel with a name like that! But also I have a LOT to say about JRPGs – they’re one of my favourite genre of video games, and we’ve got history. It’s going to be a fun panel, that’s for sure. I’m also looking forward to meeting fellow authors, watching panels (and there are literally hundreds happening!), taking part in workshops, and spending all my book royalties at the dealer’s hall.
I’ll also be bringing some goodies with me to hand out at Worldcon, including bookplates, bookmarks, fun domain postcards, and copies of Tales From Across the Domains!
Are you coming to Worldcon Glasgow? If so, drop me a comment below. I hope to see you there!
